Frequently Asked Questions
Our FAQs cover eligibility, applications, credit checks, repayments and payout timing so you know what to expect before you apply.
Eligibility and Applying
Am I likely to be eligible?
You are more likely to be eligible if you are 18+, live in Australia (Citizen, permanent resident or valid visa), have been in paid work for at least 3 months, and own a car you can use as security.
What credit score do I need?
There is no set minimum score. We look at the full picture - income, expenses and how you have managed credit.
Can I apply with little or no credit history?
Sure you can. We will focus more on your income and whether the repayments are affordable. Approval is not guaranteed.
How much can I borrow?
Between $2,100 and $5,000, depending on your situation and the value of your car.
How long is the loan term?
Our standard term is 12 months. You can pay out early with no early payout fee.
Do I keep driving my car?
Of course! Your car is used as security - you keep driving it as normal. We may register a security interest (for example, on the PPSR).
Can I apply if I already have other loans?
Yes. We will look at all your existing repayments and only approve the loan if we think it is affordable.
Credit Checks
Can I apply if my credit history is not perfect?
Past issues do not automatically knock you back. What matters most is your current situation and ability to repay.
Do you do "no credit check" or "guaranteed approval" loans?
We can't promise "guaranteed approval" or skip checks — under Australia's responsible lending laws, we need to confirm your details and make sure the loan is right for you and within your budget.
Will you contact my employer?
Only sometimes. If we cannot clearly confirm your job or income from what you send us, we may call your employer or payroll department to verify details. Relax, we do not discuss your loan in detail with them.
Application Process
How do I apply?
Use our online form, or message us on WhatsApp. We will ask for a few details about you, your income and your car.
How long does approval take?
We move as fast as we can. If you send all required info quickly, many customers get an outcome the same business day.
How can I check where my application is up to?
Reply to our SMS/email, or message us on WhatsApp. We will tell you what stage it is at and if we need anything else.
How do I sign the contract?
If approved, we will send a secure link by SMS/email so you can review and e-sign on your mobile or computer.
Can I have more than one loan at the same time?
Usually, we allow one active loan at a time. In some cases, you may be able to refinance or top up later, subject to a new assessment.
Documents You May Need
What we may need for your EquiMax Loan application?
- Most recent bank statements - Two forms of ID (Australian driver's licence, Australian passport, Medicare card, or eligible Australian visas). - Current Car Registration Document (showing VIN number and registered owner) - Proof of income (if required) – payslips or similar
*We may ask for additional documents to better understand your situation.
Get Your Loan and Pay It Back
Do I need a bank account?
You'll need an Australian bank account in your own name. We use it to review your banking history during assessment, and to pay funds to you if you're approved. You can share statements from multiple banks. We'll then nominate one primary account (usually the one you use most) to handle all transactions with us — including funding the loan and scheduled repayments.
When do I get the money?
After approval and e-signing, we send funds to your Australian bank account. Where possible we use PayID. Otherwise, EFT usually arrives within 1 business day, depending on your bank and the time you sign.
How do repayments work?
Repayments are made by direct debit. You can usually choose weekly, fortnightly or monthly to match your pay cycle (subject to approval).
What happens if I miss a repayment?
If a payment is missed or a direct debit is dishonoured, a fee may apply and it could affect your credit file. If you think you might miss a payment, get in touch early - we will talk through your options.
